NVIDIA today announced that the new NVIDIA GeForce NOW game streaming service is coming to Windows PCs. The GeForce NOW service connects gamers to GeForce GTX 1080 PCs in cloud data centers, renders games with the latest NVIDIA GameWorks visual technology and streams them in high definition to PCs. Gamers simply download the GeForce NOW app to their local machine. With a few clicks, they can connect to their own GeForce GTX virtual PC, install their favorite games from popular digital game stores — like Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Uplay and GOG — and start playing. They can also buy new games when they become available and start playing. GeForce NOW also saves in the cloud game progress and achievements, and synchronizes them with locally installed games. This means gamers can use GeForce NOW on a secondary laptop and pick up right where they left off playing on their primary gaming PC. Today, Microsoft released a new update for Office on the Mac to Office Insiders in the Slow Ring. The latest update for Office on Mac introduces some new backgrounds for the Focus Mode, including Oak, Mahogany, Graphite, Black Oak, and more. These are backgrounds which you will basically see when you are in the Focus Mode on any of the Office apps, including Word, and the other apps. In Word 2016 for Mac, we’ve added more backgrounds for focus mode, including Oak, Mahogany, Graphite, and more. To get started, switch to focus mode and move your pointer to the top of the screen to make the ribbon appear. On the View tab, click Background to see the new background choices. (If you can’t click theBackground button, make sure you’re working in Print Layout view.) These new themes are part of the 15.30 update, which is now available to Office Insiders in the Slow Ring. SanDisk yesterday announced 256GB SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.1 Solid State Flash Drive, its fastest, high-capacity USB flash drive to date. This new USB drive is capable of read speeds up to 420MB/s and write speeds up to 380MB/s. Dell’s recent XPS devices are definitely one of the prettiest laptops you can get right now. The company’s Edge-to-Edge displays are simply beautiful looking, but there’s been a missing feature in the company’s XPS device — and that, of course, is the fact it isn’t a 2-in-1 device. Dell is finally addressing this issue, thankfully. At CES 2017 in Las Vegas, the company today introduced a refreshed XPS line — and one of the refreshed devices is the new Dell XPS 13 2-in-1. Yes, Dell is finally making a convertible XPS 13 device and it can now be used in four different modes: the Laptop Mode, Tablet Mode, Stand Mode, and Tent Mode: Dell claims the new XPS 13 is the “smallest 13-inch 2-in-1” device on the planet. In a press release, Dell also stated that the XPS 13 2-in-1 is 15% smaller than the HP Spectre 360, 17% smaller than the Lenovo Yoga 900 and 910. Last October at the Windows 10 event in New York City, Microsoft officially unveiled the Windows 10 Creators Update, codenamed “Redstone 2.” At the event, Microsoft stated that the update will be released in “early 2017” but we didn’t know when exactly the update will arrive. Until now, anyway. Per my sources, Microsoft will be releasing the Windows 10 Creators Update this April. While the update initially had a version number of 1703 in Insider Builds leading to speculation that it would be released in March 2017, we can reveal that the final version number will actually be 1704 for an April release. This is not the first time that Microsoft has changed version numbers in Insider Preview releases, the firm previously changed the Xbox’s Anniversary Update release number from 1607 to 1608 last year.
